Associate GSRP Teacher - Bethlehem Little Stars Preschool

Position Summary: The Associate Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher and Preschool Administrator in
providing a safe and caring environment for children. The Associate Teacher will collaborate with the Lead
Teacher to provide quality instruction and maintaining, cleaning, and organizing the classroom. The Associate
Teacher will adhere to all GSRP responsibilities and requirements.

Position Responsibilities & Qualifications:
1. The GSRP Associate Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher in the 4-year-old GSRP Preschool using
approved curriculum and assessment tools, follow all GSRP guidelines, and co-teach Jesus Time. The
class size will be 16 children or less.
2. GSRP classes follow the Bethlehem Lutheran School and Preschool schedule and conduct classes
August- June with time off for breaks.
3. The GSRP Associate Teacher is required to be on-site working from 7:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. Monday –
Friday.
4. He/she will maintain strict confidentiality and abide by the guidelines set forth in the Bethlehem
employee handbook.
5. Attendance at minimal staff meetings, GSRP trainings, and all parent events are required and
compensated.
6. The position would be part of an already dedicated and supportive team of Christian people who love
serving children and families.
7. The GSRP Associate Teacher will be trained in CPR and First Aid and will submit to fingerprinting.
8. The GSRP Associate Teacher will maintain a certain number of professional development hours per
year (Administrator will assist in selection of these)
9. He/She must possess an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development, a valid Center-
Based CDA Certificate or an existing 120-hour approval.
10. The GSRP Associate Teacher will assist in creating bulletin boards, student learning centers, art
projects, set up, clean up, general classroom preparation, etc.
11. The GSRP Teacher will monitor the facilities for safety issues and sanitary issues following Michigan
State Rules and Regulations.
Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Wage: Hourly, $13-$14 per hour
